Its called PALYA in karnataka.

Its a vegetarian dish and is usually served along with rice.

Simple to make and tasty to eat.

Ingredients are as shown

  • chili powder 1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • 2 to 3 red chilli
  • a cup of water
  • salt for taste
  • 3 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon urad daal
  • 3 table spoon oil

Take oil in a pan.Heat it put mustard and urad daal when mustard starts sputtering add the curry leaves.Put the cut vegetables and a cup of water.let it boil.As the water boils keep constantly stirring vegetables.Add chilies, salt (2 teaspoon),sugar and turmeric to it.Add chilli powder if you like it to be more spicy.now cook it in a low flame.once in a while stir it so that vegetables get cooked correctly.check the water content.when the water content has diminished and vegetables are fully boiled remove it from heat.(if vegetables are not fully boiled (can see by using a spoon ;) ) then add some more water and allow to boil)
